När John försvarar en elev i skolan dras han snart in i en dispyt med mobbaren. Konflikten eskalerar och orsakar spänningar mellan John och hans vänner. Det hela kastar en skugga över Johns planer för en framtida motorcykelsemester med sin flickvän och hans träning för de nationella kanotmästerskapen.
