Tonårskillen Stanley Yelnats (Shia LaBeouf) är otursförföljd. Ända sen hans farfars far drog en förbannelse över släkten har han befunnit sig på fel ställe vid fel tidpunkt. Det är en spännande film med massor av humor och oväntade händelser. Shia LaBeouf (Charlies Änglar, Dum, dummare) gör rollen som den otursförföljde Stanley. Som Anstaltschefen och Mister Sir ser vi storstjärnorna Sigourney Weaver och Jon Voight.
