Hitler's Hollywood - den tyska filmen under propagandaåren 1933 - 1945Hitler's Hollywood berättar historien om den viktigaste och mest dramatiska tiden i den tyska filmhistorien. Vi frågar oss vad de nazistiska filmerna från det tredje riket avslöjar om denna period och om folket som följde dem. Hur kan dessa filmer, inklusive myterna, historierna, de öppna lögnerna och dolda sanningarna, påverka framtidens filmhistoria?Det tredje rikets filmvärld var en tungt censurerad bransch som samtidigt längtade efter att bli den tyska drömfabriken. Vi kommer att titta på dessa filmer och människorna bakom dem. Hur stereotyper av "fienden", värderingar kring kärlek och hat, historier om följare, side-kicks, fanatiker, karriärister, opportunister, rebeller, desertörer, ynkryggar och modiga män, blev exempel på bilder och tankar som planterades i åskådarnas huvuden genom bioduken.Vi berättar om stjärnorna inom de nazistiska filmerna: Hans Albers, Heinz Rühmann, Theo Lingen, Gustav Knuth, Zarah Leander, Ilse Werner, Marika Rökk, Grete Weiser, Heinrich George, Luis Trenker, Veit Harlan, Leni Riefenstahl, Karl Ritter och många många fler. Och vi berättar om de andra: Helmuth Käutner, Detlef Sierck (senare känd som Douglas Sirk), G.W.Pabst och Erich Kästner.
