Livet är magiskt när ens bästa kompis är en tomtenisse. När tomtenissen Pixy dyker upp redan 1 december blir familjen Jul väldigt överraskade. Fast han är mest där för att hämta mössan som han glömde förra året. Men hans mössa döljer också en hemlighet - hans magiska alvkula. Av en olyckshändelse råkar Hugo Jul ha sönder Pixys magiska kula, vilket leder till att Pixy förlorar sin alvmagi och snabbt börjar åldras och bli gammal.
