Inger återvänder till sin lilla hemstad med sin son Sigge efter ett misslyckat giftermål i Stockholm. Första helgen hemma går hon ut och dansar på ett typiskt svenskt småstads dansställe. Där träffar hon Kaj som ögonblickligen förälskar sig i henne. Inger kommer in i Kaj's umgänge där även dansbandet Black Jack egen casanova Tommy ingår.
