Film nr 20 i serien om kommissarie Beck och hans kollegor med Haber och Persbrandt i huvudrollerna. En känd stjärnadvokat, Patrik Hansson, mördas brutalt i sin lägenhet. Där befinner sig också en ung kvinna som lyckas larma polisen. När Beck-gruppen kopplas in hittar de ett tydligt mordmotiv. Hansson skulle just avsluta ett mål mot ett multinationellt företag och han hade goda chanser att vinna det målet. När Beck och kollegorna börjar nysta i Hanssons liv visar det sig snart att han inte hade "rent mjöl i påsen"! Han levde tydligen i en slags gråzon och hade kopplingar till den undre världen. Är det så att Hanssons död inte hade med det pågående målet att göra? Eller är det helt andra personer inblandade med helt andra motiv?
